Considering a Vocation to Monastic Life? Come and See!
Labor Day Weekend: Sept 1-3, 2017
Are you a woman seeking a deeper relationship with God in a community of prayer and ministry? This weekend will provide you with opportunities to talk with and ask questions of the St Helena sisters, to meet other women exploring monastic life in the Episcopal Church, and to experience our life of prayer and community.
To make a reservation, please contact Sr Ellen Francis, OSH, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 803-426-1616 and leaving a message. If you know someone else who may be interested in religious life, please share this information with her.
Our Practice of Hospitality
In the tradition of monastic hospitality, it is the intention of the sisters of the Order of St Helena to extend a welcome to you. For those seeking God in silence and prayer, our convent chapel is always open. Other places of welcome and refuge are our reception room, spiritual direction rooms, and grounds, as well as our lovely neighborhood.
Special Offering for Clergy
We offer clergy two free overnight reservations per calendar year, to get away for a few days of rest and refreshment, to soak up the peace of singing Gregorian chant, to go for walks and to be among friends for whom spirituality is central to life. As you know, several sisters are gifted spiritual directors who’d be happy to meet with you during your stay.
Please note that the sisters' Sabbath is Monday.
Guest rooms are not available on Sunday and Monday nights.
Guests are responsible for their own transportation to and from the convent.
Information for Guests and Visitors

The guest house has eight single rooms with individual temperature controls and private bathrooms. The guest house common room has a full kitchen available for your use.
